THE JOURNAL

Kent Island Minimony // Ashley + Griffin

Ashley and Griffin made the difficult decision to postpone their large September wedding by a year, but they didn’t want to put life on hold. So they chose to get married on their original wedding weekend in a mini-ceremony held at Kent Island Events. The couple was joined by their parents, siblings, niece and nephew…and of course their pup, Spud! Before the ceremony, Ashley’s mom helped her dress at the venue and shared a sweet first look with her dad. Their ceremony took place right on the water, and was officiated by Griffin’s (and soon to be Ashley’s) brother-in-law. A handsome little ring bearer carried their personalized ring box down the aisle, followed by the cutest flower girl. Ashley was led down the aisle by both her mom and dad. Family and friends joined via Zoom and watched as Ashley and Griffin tied the knot. The weather the day prior was rainy and windy – enough to knock over the reception tent. So a close eye was kept on the weather. Fortunately, we had an overcast day and even a nod from Mother Nature, with the sun peeking through the clouds right at sunset! Ashley had made personalized hand sanitizers and masks for everyone with the bride and groom wearing special “Mr. and Mrs.” masks. After the ceremony, it was time for family pictures and bride and groom portraits. The reception included a toast (check out the classy, engraved sparkling bottle the couple received) and a dinner. It was a beautiful celebration! I know the happy couple is looking forward to celebrating with their loved ones in-person next fall – and I look capturing those memories as well. Congratulations again, Mr. & Mrs. Boyle!
