I first met Kaitlyn and Evan for their engagement session in Old Town Alexandria last October. After spending time with this couple, I knew their wedding would be joyful and sweet – and it absolutely was! The couple married at the gorgeous Springfield Manor Winery in Thurmond, MD, now one of my favorite venues. Their wedding day was beautiful, sunny and warm. Kaitlyn was the ideal bride – gracious and so well-prepared for her day; she was clearly relaxed and soaking in every moment and wore an infectious smile (no pun intended) throughout the day!! There were many memorable moments, and a few things that stood out for me were the sweet interactions with Kaitlyn and her parents like her mom’s reaction upon seeing Kaitlyn in her wedding dress and the moving daddy-daughter first look. I adored their handsome little guy Maddox and how the entire family from grandparents to aunts and uncles doted on him throughout the day, he is one loved little boy! And lastly, when photographing Kaitlyn and Evan, their kind and genuine, yet cheerful connection is evident.

The ceremony took place outside with a beautiful view of the mountains on the background. Afterward guests enjoyed the cocktail hour while immediate family, bride, and groom took portraits. And then it was time for the reception! The evening included fun entrances, speeches by the maid-of-honor and best man, and lots of dancing! Before the sunset, we took a few more portraits in the lavender field. While the peak season had passed, the scent of lavender lingered in the air. I know I blogged way too many images from the wedding, but it was simply impossible to narrow them down as I had so many favorites.
