Dahlgren Chapel Wedding // Ella + Tim

The Filipino word “Mahal” means love and perfectly describes Ella and Tim’s beautiful wedding day! Like so many others, the couple initially planned a big wedding a year ago, but the pandemic postponed their celebration. The couple downsized their wedding celebration, but it was nothing short of perfect. The reception took place at an Airbnb where the couple also stayed for the weekend with their families. Ella had the best glam squad with Shawn working makeup magic and Patricia performing hair artistry for the day. After getting ready, family and godparents headed to Georgetown, Tim’s Alma Mater, for the ceremony at the Dahlgren Chapel. Surrounded by closest family, the couple tied the knot in a tearful ceremony officiated by their college priest. When Ella entered the chapel and Tim saw her for the first time, the emotion in the audience was palpable.

After the ceremony, it was time for family formals and bride & groom portraits. We concluded in front of the imposing main gate, and it looked straight out of a fairytale – so fitting for this Disney loving couple! I could’ve photographed Ella and Tim all night long, but alas, it was time for the newlyweds to head to their reception! More friends joined the celebration back at the venue during cocktail hour. In a move which speaks volumes about their consideration and character, the couple wrote and left personalized notes at the table settings for all in attendance. Ella and Tim danced to a live cello version of Train’s “Marry Me”…. and broke into the best dance moves! These two are a perfect mix of sweet and fun!
A gorgeous dinner was followed by speeches and parent dances. Tim’s best man, his brother Matt, gave the most “scientific” speech complete with charts and facts – absolutely priceless. The couple enjoyed a sparkler exit, but it was far from the end of the party – quite the opposite! The happy newlyweds returned for more dancing and visiting with guests. Their intimate celebration exemplified all the things that matter the most in life – family, friends, and mahal!
