When chatting about their engagement shoot, I was thrilled to learn that Amy and Ryan were open to a winter session in Old Town Alexandria! Cities and downtowns are always such a great option for winter photos – especially when little is green or blooming. And thanks to the mild winter here in the DMV area, it wasn’t freezing…although towards the end as the sun was setting the temperature definitely dipped, but these two were total troopers! Amy and Ryan met in college and their love story is six years in the making! Their proposal story is as sweet as they come. Ryan decided to pop the question last June. He went out to get a box of DC Donuts and returned with the most original selection.  Imagine Amy’s surprise when she opened the box to discover the donut in the middle asked “Marry Me?” The rest as they say is history.  I’m so honored to capture this season in their lives.
